Our Obstetrics Services

POGS is a friendly and committed practice and dedicated to care for women during pregnancy, childbirth and the weeks after birth. We have four specialist obstetricians and our amazing team of midwives and reception staff ensure that each new mum and her partner feel welcome and relaxed in the knowledge that she is in safe hands. Our focus is to treat every woman with respect, as an individual and to provide a total care experience.

POGS is owned by our doctors. With more than 13 years in operation and more than 6000 babies delivered by our team - you are in safe hands. From that exciting time you first see the positive pregnancy test result our specialists, Dr Ana Perkovic, Dr Alana Pountney, Dr Pierre Smith and Dr Patrick Wu, are here to help. We work as a group practice with a specialist in our consulting rooms every day of the week and a specialist on call 24 hours a day 7 days of the week. Women have the option to meet all the obstetricians on the on call roster.

We provide the following services as your Perth based obstetricians:

• Pre-pregnancy counselling, investigation, genetic testing, treatment
• Ovulation induction with oral medication
• Treatment of early pregnancy complications eg miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy
• Placement of cervical sutures (cerclage) for Cervical incompetence
• Antenatal care, genetic screening, gestational diabetes management
• Intrapartum care, vaginal delivery, instrumental and caesarean delivery
• High risk obstetrics, previous pregnancy complications, multiple pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension, pre-eclampsia, other medical conditions
• Caesarean sections when indicated eg low lying placenta or where requested
• Post partum care, breastfeeding support, emotional support and contraception

Our highly skilled team are committed to provide guidance and support to ensure your experience is as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Our aim is to make every family feel comfortable and have the experience they desire.

We consult at St John of God Subiaco Clinic and deliver babies at SJOG Subiaco Hospital.

We also offer a range of gynaecological services.
