Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Control & Prevention
Please help us protect our staff, patients & visitors. If you are feeling unwell or have respiratory infection symptoms such as:
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
Or if a close friend or relative has returned from overseas in the past 14 days, we ask you to please DO NOT VISIT our practice, but call us first to speak to a Midwife on (08) 6270 0123.
This is to minimise the risk of infection to the POGS doctors, staff & patients as our practice is not equipped to deal with infectious diseases.
While we do not believe there is a higher risk to develop COVID-19 if you are pregnant, people of all ages can be affected by the novel coronavirus, and it can be extremely serious.
Please also ensure that you are practising good hand & respiratory hygiene including:
- Wash your hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rubs
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or flexed elbow when coughing or sneezing
- Avoid contact with anyone who has symptoms such as fever, a cough, sore throat, fatigue, & shortness of breath
- Stay home if you are unwell
If you have been overseas in the past 14 days, been exposed with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or begin to exhibit any symptoms such as fever, a cough, sore throat, fatigue, and breathing difficulties, then you should call ahead to your GP or emergency department and mention you’ve been in contact with someone with novel coronavirus infection before you arrive.
We thank you for helping us protect ourselves & others. If you would like to read more for advice, visit the US’s Centre for Disease Control & Protection website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
